Crimson Softball - Centerville & Seymour MS - 2026
Here are the Principles that Guide our Team.
These are guidelines that we follow as coaches and expect our players and families to support.
-
Never verbally chastise a player during a game. We will correct, or instruct, but we will NOT berate a player for making a mistake.
-
Never harass an umpire. Our coaches should be the only ones questioning an official's call. And that will be done quietly, and professionally. Also, we teach our catcher's to 'run the game'. If spectators irritate officials, that takes the game away from our catcher.
-
Only coaches give instruction during games. Players should not be looking between their coach and a family member trying to decide who to follow.
-
Practices are 'closed.' Meaning, we do not allow friends or family to observe practices. Players should not have to worry about being scrutinized by anyone except their coaches.
-
"Practice time is my time, Game time is your time." What we mean by this is practice is a tool for coaches and should be respected, and positive game experiences are critical for players.
-
We assume that if your player has to miss a game or a practice that it is for a legitimate reason. No excuse is necessary. Just please advise us.
-
Our focus is developing all players. However, game time and position time is solely at the discretion of the coaches. Generally, players will only rotate through two to three positions. We will ask players at the beginning of the season which positions they want to learn, and will accommodate them as much as possible.
-
"Learn to enjoy watching your player fail." Failure is the stepping stone to success.
-
We are a TEAM. Players - Family - Coaches. Our success is determined by how well we work together.
